The Tsingshan Nickel-lron RKEF Smelting Project islocated in Sulawesi and Weda Bay, Indonesia. The RKEF(Rotary kiln Electric Furnace)process is an advancedferronickel smelting technology. The project consists ofthree main systems (drying kiln, rotary kiln and electricfurnace), public auxiliary systems including pump houseand vertical mill, as well as main drive systems for bothdrying kiln and rotary kiln.

The electric furnace adopts Siemens 410Smartredundantcontrolsystem, while othersystems use SiemensS7-1500 series PLCs. The rotary kiln is equipped with ABBACS880 master-slave synchronous drive. The entire systemfeatures a redundant ring network topology with SiemensIPC series industrial computers running WinCC SCADAplatform.
