The Tsingshan Nickel-lron HPAL Smelting Project is locatedin Indonesia's Weda Bay Industrial Park and adopts the High-Pres.sure Acid Leaching (HPAL) process, comprising three major plantareas:mineral processing plant, acid production plant andsmelting plant. The DcS system utilizes Siemens' latest PCS7platform with field configurations including one central engineer-ing station, three engineering stations, five pairs of redundantservers, three pairs of redundant historical servers, seventy-fivequad-screen operator stations, twenty-two redundant AS410control stations, approximately 25,000 l/0 points and over 1,000third-party communication nodes.

The system features a three-tier independent networkarchitecture (terminal bus, system bus and field bus) with dual-re-dundant ringnetworks for both system bus and field bus to ensurestable operation. The project also implements Siemens' SlMlTsimulation platform for full-process DCS configuration simulationto reduce commissioning time, which will later serve as anoperator training system to enhance production safety andefficiency.
